Saam’s Sustainable Business Model

Highlighting the Sustainability of Saam's Business Model This Earth Day

Sustainability is at the core of Saam’s beliefs, going beyond our architectural designs into the fabric of our business model. For over a decade, we’ve championed a flexible workplace that not only enhances employee productivity and satisfaction but significantly reduces our carbon footprint.

One of the most obvious ways our business model contributes to sustainability is through the reduction of CO2 emissions stemming from decreased employee commuting. Each team member can work remotely, alleviating the need for constant travel to and from the office. Additionally, we encourage flexible work hours, enabling employees to avoid peak commuting hours and opt for times when commuting is the most energy efficient. Combined with our office’s strategic proximity to public transit options, these initiatives have led to an 87% reduction in our overall CO2 impact from commuting, saving over 80 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

The benefits of our flexible business model extend beyond the employee commute. Embracing collaborative technology plays a pivotal role in both the way we work and our sustainability efforts. This has notably led to a significant reduction of paper usage. The impacts of paper on the environment are more significant than most people realize – over 40% of wood pulp production goes to paper, and one ream of paper takes nearly 47 gallons of fresh water to produce! Through digital document sharing and communication platforms, we’ve substantially decreased our reliance on paper, minimizing the environmental impact associated with its production, transportation, and disposal.

Saam’s business model also increases resource optimization and efficiency. With fewer employees physically present in the office on any given day, there’s a corresponding decrease in energy consumption related to office operations, including lighting, heating, and cooling. This not only reduces our ecological footprint but also translates into tangible cost savings.

Saam’s team takes pride in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and recognizes the vital role businesses play in shaping a more environmentally-conscious future. Our business model exemplifies how innovation and adaptability can drive positive environmental change at both the individual employee and enterprise levels.
