is a multi-lingual descriptor that translates as “together”.
Although Saam Architecture was founded in June 2014, the firm leadership has served together in executive positions for nearly two decades, collaborating on numerous projects across a multitude of sectors: transportation, aviation, civic, corporate, cultural/arts, federal, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, K–12, laboratory, libraries, master planning, mixed-use, multifamily residential, retail, and workplace. Since its establishment in Boston’s Seaport Innovation District, Saam has grown to a team of 22, drawing talent from other high-profile Boston architectural studios to bring together diverse backgrounds and skill sets, enabling us to take a holistic approach to total design.
Collaboration is central to our approach to architecture: we provide responsible design solutions while acknowledging the client’s role in them. Our clients not only are serviced by responsive, flexible individuals who value trust and open communication, but also have extensive input into the project design, specifications, and execution so their needs can be met effectively. This business model has attracted top talent to our client base and given us a high rate of client retention.
Saam Architecture extends its collaborative approach to forming strategic alliances with internationally acclaimed architects to assist in the delivery of their design visions in alignment with their clients’ project goals. Our resumes include collaboration history with architects such as Renzo Piano, Jonathan Levi, Nader Tehrani, Coop Himmelb(l)au, and I.M. Pei.
Saam is officially certified as a WBE (Woman-Owned Business Enterprise) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) through the Unified Certification Program in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and a WBE/SLBE by the City of Boston.
