is a multi-lingual descriptor that translates as “together”.
saam architecture was established in June 2014 in Boston’s Seaport Innovation District by principals from the former Boston architectural studios of Burt Hill/Stantec, which had conducted business in New England since 1997. This means that members of our team have been working together for almost 20 years, collaborating on numerous projects across a multitude of sectors: transportation, corporate interior, cultural/arts, government, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, laboratory, light manufacturing, master planning, mixed-use, multifamily residential, and workplace. We have grown to a team of 26 designers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, which enable us to take a holistic approach to total design in the same wide range of sectors.
Collaboration is central to our approach to architecture: we provide responsible design solutions while acknowledging the client’s role in them. Our clients not only are serviced by responsive, flexible individuals who value trust and open communication, but also have extensive input into the project design, specifications and execution so their needs can be met effectively. This business model has attracted top talent to our client base and given us a high rate of client retention.
saam architecture extends its collaborative approach to forming strategic alliances with internationally acclaimed architects to assist in the delivery of their design visions in alignment with their clients’ project goals. Our resumes include collaboration history with architects such as Renzo Piano, Jonathan Levi, Nader Tehrani, Coop Himmelb(l)au, and I.M. Pei.
saam architecture is officially certified as a WBE (Woman-Owned Business Enterprise) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) through the Unified Certification Program in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and a WBE/SLBE by the City of Boston.
