The Northwest Labs building at Harvard became the new home for a small-bore animal and particle physics MRI. This 1,000 square foot lab provided multiple research teams with new opportunities. The design team coordinated with Harvard’s sheilding consultant to accommodate the needs of a powerful but older imaging resource.
This project utilized a CM at Risk during the design phases, and per Harvard’s standard, was deemed LEED certifiable by the Harvard Office of Sustainability. Structural and mechanical challenges included routing of a quench duct from the fourth basement up through the fourth floor above ground.
